Who is Zaid Khan?
Zaid Khan
From the streets of the Bronx, to Wall Street, now investing in Main Street.
Born in Manhattan. Raised on the toughest streets of the Bronx. A self-taught engineer who lost almost everything in one year and rebuilt himself into an investor, a private hedge fund CEO and a philanthropist.
Investor. Private hedge fund CEO. Philanthropist.
A union steamfitter from the Bronx who became an investor at One World Trade Center. This is his story, his record and what he stands for, in his own words.
Zaid means increase. My mission is to increase the lives I touch.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
Seven chapters. One life.
- IWhere he comes from
Born in Manhattan, the financial capital of the world, and raised in the Bronx, where money was never plentiful and ambition always was. A child with ADHD who took machines apart to see how they worked. With his first summer paycheck his friends bought an Xbox. He bought Microsoft.
The streets gave me grit. Wall Street gave me reach. Main Street is the lesson I was born to teach.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
- IIThe call
As a teenager he joined Steamfitters Local 638 and became the technician who found the fault no one else could find. A teacher, Pete Gonzalez, introduced the kid from the Bronx to a room full of CEOs as a future success, before he had done a single thing to deserve it.
Someone once believed in me. Now I believe in them.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
- IIIThe first rise
In his mid-twenties Anjum Malik became his first investor and handed him his first multimillion-dollar contract. He built a mechanical-contracting company that won public and private work across New York City, including the New York City School Construction Authority.
If I am ever the smartest person in the room, I am in the wrong room.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
- IVThe ordeal
Then 2016 took almost all of it. An accident took his leg below the knee. His business partner passed away. The company was lost. One year, three losses.
- VThe return
From a hospital bed he went back to the markets he had loved since he was a boy. He taught himself, learned from mentor after mentor, and in 2018 acquired ARB Trader, whose automated record runs back to 2013. After 2020 he evolved it into machine learning and AI.
Since 2013 our algorithms have been learning. Today they reason.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
- VIThe reward
Today he leads from One World Trade Center as Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital and Managing Partner of Manhattan Global Partners, the Khan family office, with experience across more than $4.5 billion in deals.
Innovate. Create. Disrupt. You either disrupt, or you get disrupted.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
- VIIThe gift
The point of all of it: turning the world's forgotten orphanages into innovation centers and venture labs, so a child with no one can become a child with everyone.
I must earn before I am able to give. Inspire before I expire.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
We do not predict markets. We engineer for them.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
Proof, not promises.
Anyone doing due diligence can check the record for themselves.
On the record. On the screen.
If I am ever the smartest person in the room, I am in the wrong room.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
Two institutions. One discipline.
The streets gave him grit. Wall Street gave him reach.
Someone believed in him. Now he believes in them.
Zaid Khan is turning the world’s forgotten orphanages into innovation centers and venture labs, and he built a private hedge fund to power them for generations.
Increase.
Zaid means increase. His purpose is to leave every life he touches greater than he found it.
Put hidden genius on the world stage.
Turn orphanages across emerging and developing countries into innovation centers and venture labs. Find the brilliant minds inside them, magnify their potential, and give them the tools to exercise their God-given gifts, wherever in the world they were born.
Capital that never stops working.
Manhattan Crypto Capital and Manhattan Global Partners. The fund is the engine. The children are the reason.
Innovate. Create. Disrupt. You either disrupt, or you get disrupted.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
Zaid Khan is Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital, a private hedge fund run by super intelligent agents, and Managing Partner of Manhattan Global Partners, the Khan family office. He is an investor with an algorithmic track record that began in 2013 and experience across more than $4.5 billion in deals. Ask him what he does, and he will tell you about the children.
The streets gave him grit. Wall Street gave him reach. Main Street is the lesson he was born to teach.
IThe streets
He was born in Manhattan, the financial capital of the world, and raised on some of the toughest streets in the Bronx. Money was never plentiful there. Ambition was.
He was the boy who took machines apart to see how they worked, then put them back together better than he found them. School was hard for a child with ADHD, and the classroom rarely knew what to do with him. His hands always did.
At home, a second education was under way. His mother was a banker at Citibank. His father worked in finance. Markets were the language of the family table, and CNBC played in the background while a teenage Zaid imagined that one day he would be the one on the screen. When his first summer paychecks arrived, his friends bought an Xbox. He bought Microsoft.
IIThe believer
At Alfred E. Smith, a vocational high school, a teacher named Pete Gonzalez saw something in him that nobody else could see. He walked the teenager into rooms full of the top executives in the boiler and technology industries and introduced him, every time, as someone who would one day be a very successful man.
Zaid remembers standing beside him and looking up, asking himself the same questions over and over. How does he know that? What makes him say it? What if I never become anything at all?
He did not have the answers. He decided to become them. He graduated at the top of his class, enrolled to study mechanical engineering at New York City College of Technology, and watched hardship cut it short. He never earned the degree. He became an engineer anyway. Self-taught, the kind who learns by building.
IIIThe room
He learned early that a life is shaped by the rooms it chooses. His friends were always the oldest people in the room. He made sure he was always the youngest, the poorest and the one with the most to learn.
“If I am ever the richest, smartest and most successful person in the room,” he says, “I am in the wrong room. I have to change the room.”
IVThe trade
As a teenager he joined Steamfitters Local 638, the union of the men who build the arteries of New York, and became known as the technician who found the fault no one else could find, and fixed it.
In his mid-twenties, Anjum Malik became his first investor and handed him his first multimillion-dollar contract. His first government contracts followed, with the New York City School Construction Authority and the city’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
He built his own mechanical-contracting company, became one of the highest paid in his trade, merged with a plumbing firm to scale, and won multimillion-dollar public and private contracts across Manhattan and greater New York for city, state and federal work.
The boy from the Bronx was building the city that raised him.
VThe fall
Then came 2016.
An accident took his leg below the knee. In the same season, his business partner passed away. He spent two years in a bed, unable to work, unable to bid, unable to build. He was forced to sell the company he had spent his youth creating, and the empire he had built in the construction world came down with it.
His partners did not walk away. They pivoted with him.
There are years that end a man’s story. For Zaid, that year became the first page.
From a hospital bed, with the one skill no accident could take, he went back to the markets he had loved since he was a boy. He had begun investing in digital assets in 2014. Now he studied markets the way an engineer studies a broken machine, until he saw in them what he had always seen in engines: systems with patterns, and problems waiting to be solved. He had spent his life rebuilding machines. Now he had to rebuild himself.
VIThe climb
He taught himself, and he learned at the feet of mentor after mentor. In 2018 he acquired ARB Trader, a London arbitrage firm whose automated trading record runs back to 2013, and advanced its algorithms into artificial intelligence and machine learning.
In Dubai he merged Khan Tech Trading, ARB Trader and FinScientists into a single quantitative platform for AI trading, automated advice and risk management. From $1.1 million invested, it grew into a business independently valued at $24 million within five years.
Through Manhattan Global Investments, his private equity and consulting firm, he gained experience across more than $4.5 billion in public and private deals, and built relationships with the royal families of the United Arab Emirates, sovereign and family offices, investment banks and law firms from Dubai to Abu Dhabi.
He raised capital toward acquiring a bank in Dubai, with an option on three board seats. It failed. It was expensive and humbling, and it taught him more in three years than most careers teach in thirty. He exited the firm and kept every lesson.
And the teenager who once watched CNBC at the family table went on to deliver market analysis on CNBC Arabia.
VIIWall Street
He formed a private family office with his general partner Taj Sawh and with Anjum Malik, one of his first limited partners and his investor, advisor, teacher and mentor. It was Anjum who taught him to think global and act local, and who opened his mind to something greater than he could yet perceive.
In 2022 Manhattan Crypto Fund LP filed its Form D with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The fund is private and closed. It does not raise capital. It runs on a doctrine he wrote himself: architecture over speculation, and the question of loss before the question of gain.
Today it is a private hedge fund run by super intelligent, agentic systems and sophisticated quantitative models, governed by people, with an algorithmic record that began in 2013. Its headquarters sit at One World Trade Center, a few miles and a whole world away from the streets where he started. Disruption is his discipline. You either disrupt, or you get disrupted.
VIIIMain Street
Now the capital flows back to where he came from. Through MGP Private Credit, the family office finances businesses across the country and invests in real estate in 47 states. Through its private equity arm, it backs established American companies and the families who built them.
From the streets, to Wall Street, to Main Street. The circle is the point.
IXThe children
Everything he has built points in one direction.
Around the world, in emerging and developing countries, there are children in orphanages who carry the gifts of engineers, founders, scientists and artists. Most of them will never meet a single person who tells them so. He was once a boy who needed one believer. He found Pete Gonzalez. Millions of children never find theirs.
So he is building the believer at scale. Orphanages rehabilitated and reinvented as innovation centers and venture labs. Power, internet, mentors and capital. The tools to exercise their God-given gifts, and a stage big enough for the whole world to see them shine, no matter where they were born.
He serves as president of one of New York City’s largest interfaith non-profit organizations, and a share of the General Partner’s profits is committed to orphans for as long as the fund earns. The hedge fund is not the destination. It is the engine.
XThe meaning of a name
In Arabic, Zaid (زيد) comes from the root z-y-d, which means to grow, to add, to increase. It is a name of abundance. It is also the only name of a companion of the Prophet recorded in the Qur’an.
He did not choose the name. He has spent his life trying to deserve it. To increase what he is given. To increase the people around him. To leave every life he touches greater than he found it, and to inspire as many lives as he can before he expires.
None of it was mine alone. All praise and thanks belong to God, who carried me through the bed and the darkness and set me on my feet again.
To Pete Gonzalez, the teacher who introduced a boy from the Bronx to a room full of CEOs as a future success, before I had done a single thing to deserve it. To Anjum Malik, my first investor, my teacher and my mentor, who gave me my first multimillion-dollar contract and taught me to think global and act local. To Billy, my partner. To the partners who pivoted with me when everything fell. To Taj Sawh. To my mother and father, who taught me the language of markets at our kitchen table. And to every mentor who gave me their time when I had nothing to offer in return.
What I have been given is a trust, and I intend to deliver it. Inspire before I expire.

Old money to new money.
The largest transfer of wealth in history is meeting the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Zaid Khan has built his fund to stand where the two collide, and to capture the volatility in between.

Three forces. One window.
The great wealth transfer
An estimated $124 trillion is expected to change hands in the United States through 2048. A new generation inherits it, and it does not bank, invest or trust the way its parents did.
Money becomes software
Bitcoin, stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets are rewriting settlement, custody and collateral. Capital that once moved in days now moves in seconds, around the clock and across every border.
Intelligence becomes capital
Super intelligent, agentic systems now research, model and execute with a speed and breadth no human desk can match. The edge has moved from information to inference.

Old money preserved the world. New money will rebuild it.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital

Volatility is the toll every revolution charges.
Every transfer of wealth reprices the world. Legacy balance sheets unwind, new ones form, and liquidity rushes between them. That dislocation surfaces as volatility.
Most capital fears it. A properly engineered fund harvests it. Manhattan Crypto Capital is built to classify the regime, size every position to a single risk budget, and convert dispersion, drawdowns and mispriced convexity into asymmetric opportunity.
Old money preserved its advantage through access. New money will compound through architecture.
I do not chase the market. I build the machine that waits for it.Zaid Khan, Chairman and CEO of Manhattan Crypto Capital
A private hedge fund run by super intelligence. Governed by people.
Regime classification, volatility forecasting, cross-asset correlation, order-flow and on-chain intelligence. Offensive agents hunt asymmetry. Defensive agents guard the drawdown. Every thesis is researched, debated and stress-tested before capital moves, and named human officers hold final authority. The doctrine has not changed since the first algorithm went live: the question of loss comes before the question of gain.
$10B
Ten years. One portfolio. Built to compound.
The portfolio of businesses and holdings is projected to grow to a $10 billion valuation over the next decade, compounding through private credit, private equity, the private hedge fund and the technology beneath them.
Forward-looking statement. This is a projection and an ambition, not a forecast of returns or a guarantee. Actual results may differ materially.

The children come first.
Turning the world's forgotten orphanages into self-sufficient innovation centers and venture labs, funded in perpetuity by the discipline of a hedge fund.
The kids eat first. Always.
A dream carried since childhood, pointed at the children the world forgets, and funded by the discipline of a hedge fund. Manhattan Global Partners is the official home of this mission, where orphanages register and mentors apply.
"Invest in the seed. Let it become a forest."
It began with a child who was believed in.
"When I could not dream big enough, someone dreamed it for me. I am building the machine that dreams for them."
This did not start in a boardroom. It started in a childhood, with a boy who did not yet have the words for what he wanted to become. Teachers and mentors believed in him more than he believed in himself, and parents invested everything they had into him. That belief, more than any lesson, built the life that followed.
Orphans are not a problem to be managed. They are some of the most extraordinary and most blessed human beings on this planet, and among the most ignored, especially in the emerging world. Good people build orphanages, and then those places fall silent when a founder passes, a program ends or a government changes. The child inherits the loss.
His name, Zaid, means growth, increase and abundance. He believes that is not a coincidence but an instruction. This is not a donation drive, and not a foundation that lives and dies with its founder. It is an institution engineered to outlast him by a hundred years and more.
Rehabilitate and reinvent the world's forgotten orphanages, and fund them in perpetuity.
So that no child's future ever again depends on one person's lifetime. The world does not lack generosity toward orphans. It lacks continuity. Almost every effort is tied to a single source, and when that source disappears, the children are left with the consequences of a promise they never made.
The benefactor passes
A philanthropist builds and gives for years, then one day is gone, and the support that felt permanent turns out to have been personal.
The funding ends
An NGO loses a grant, a program is cut, a budget is reallocated somewhere far away, and a home that depended on it is left exposed.
The politics shift
A change in regime or policy neglects what a previous one supported, and children pay the price of decisions made in rooms they will never see.
"Somebody once came with a dream and built these places. The dream was never the building. The dream was the child."
Go to the official page ↗We do not build orphanages. We reinvent them.
The homes already exist, standing right now in villages the maps barely name. First comes dignity: housing, clean water, medical and hygienic care, and food. Then four pillars, in order, turn a forgotten home into a self-sufficient engine of opportunity that runs off the grid and answers to no one's budget but its own.
Power
Off-grid renewable energy drawn from the natural resources already around them. Electricity is the first key, and it unlocks every other one.
Internet
Advanced connectivity, including systems like Starlink, brings the entire world into a village that a map forgot. Distance stops being a sentence.
Access
A simple computer in a child's hands turns that connection into a university without walls, open every hour of every day, for free.
Empowerment
The rarest resource of all: mentorship from people who have already built what these children will dream of, plus the capital to back their first ventures.
"The world becomes your oyster without ever leaving your village."
We do not ask for their money. We ask for their time.
His formula is simple enough to give away. Find people already living the life you want, add value to theirs, and in exchange they hand you decades of experience you could not have bought. The greatest minds and most sophisticated builders do not need to give money. What changes a child's life is their time, their knowledge and their belief.
We start early, before a child is even a teenager. We help them find the dream they cannot yet name, then give them permission to make it bigger. The child with no one becomes the child with everyone.
We will never raise a dollar. We do not have to.
No gala to beg, no grant to chase. The funding is written into governance. We intend to direct thirty percent of the General Partner's share of fund profits, in perpetuity, to these children. Not goodwill when it is convenient. A promise built to outlive us.
The fund is engineered to run on its own algorithms and super intelligence for generations, with a small human team for legal, compliance, operations, finance and oversight, guiding an engine that quietly feeds the forgotten for a hundred years.

The journey of every orphanage.
From the day a home registers on the official page to the day it can stand on its own.
Discover and assess
The orphanage registers, and we assess its people, its condition and its needs on the ground, honestly and in full.
The foundation of life
First, dignity. Safe housing, clean water, sanitation, nutrition and a functioning medical clinic.
Power the site
Off-grid renewable energy so the institution runs itself, independent of any grid, budget or government.
Connect to the world
Satellite internet, so the village is no longer isolated from the knowledge and opportunity of the planet.
Put the world in their hands
Computers for the children, turning connection into a university without walls that never closes.
The innovation lab
Entrepreneurship and innovation labs, and a curriculum built for builders, not just for exams.
Cultivate the seed
Each child's dream is paired with a mentor who has already lived it, building intellect and belief.
Launch and endow
We seed their first ventures and fund the institution in perpetuity, so no home depends on one lifetime again.

Not this year, or the next decade, but the centuries after he is gone and the infrastructure he leaves behind. You do not change the world by feeding it once. You change it by planting seeds, cultivating them into the greatest version of themselves, then letting them plant the next.
"You invest in the seeds, and you let them become a forest."
Be part of a legacy that outlives us all.
Every form, application and registration lives on the official philanthropy page at Manhattan Global Partners. Choose how you want to help and continue there.
Sponsor a child with your time.
Sixty minutes a week. Whatever you have built or survived, a child somewhere can grow from it, and we will match you with a child whose future you are uniquely built to shape.
Bring us the home the world forgot.
If you run, support or know an orphanage anywhere in the world, register it on the official page and we will begin building a plan to integrate and innovate it. There is no cost, and there never will be.
This page describes a philanthropic mission and intended commitment of Manhattan Crypto Capital and its principals. The intention to direct thirty percent of the General Partner's share of fund profits to orphan-focused programs is a governance intention to be codified in the Fund's operating and partnership agreements, depends on realized profit, and is not a guarantee. Descriptions of programs, allocations and development phases are illustrative and will be refined with counsel, advisers and on-the-ground assessment. This page is for informational purposes only. It is not an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security, and it is not a solicitation of charitable funds from the public. No member, officer or affiliate of Manhattan Crypto Capital is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser, and nothing here is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Child safeguarding is paramount, and we do not collect, request or publish identifying information about individual children. SEC EDGAR CIK 0001924586.
